For 40 years, Dolores Street Community Services (DSCS) has been fighting for and alongside those disproportionately impacted by centuries of misogyny, racism, homophobia, and systemic discrimination.  

We have three distinct programs that support our LGBTQ+ community.  

•  Jazzie’s Place was the first shelter program in the nation specifically designed to serve the LGBTQ+ community and we continue to provide guests with a safe and affirming experience regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity. 
•  At the height of the AIDS crisis, DSCS established the Richard M. Cohen Residence for individuals with HIV/AIDS, providing residents with nursing care, comfortable accommodations, and peace and dignity in their final days. With advanced treatments now available, today Cohen provides transitional residential care for unhoused adults with HIV/AIDS. Cohen is one of the oldest homes in San Francisco—donations will ensure this historic landmark can provide a tranquil space for community members in need. 
•  Food insecurity is disproportionately high among the LGBTQ+ community. And Arcoiris Market (rainbow) is here to help. This large-scale food pantry provides culturally appropriate groceries for LGBTQ+ individuals and families living with food insecurity.  

Too often, members of the LGBTQ+ community live with the effects of poverty at disproportionately high rates. You can help. 

We hope to raise $10,000 to support our LGBTQ+  programs. Your support is vital to ensuring we get the resources necessary including Hot Meals, Toiletries, Shelter and Services.
