Familia: Trans Queer Liberation Movement (Familia: TQLM) was established in 2014 with the goal of creating an organizing, political, and cultural home for the trans, queer, and gender non-conforming Latinx community, including undocumented Latinx immigrants, in the United States. We work at the local and national levels to achieve our collective liberation through building community, organizing, advocacy, and education. We convene, mobilize, and organize nationally with local organizations and leaders in regions across the U.S. to further our vision of achieving the collective liberation of trans, queer, and gender non-conforming Latinx peoples.

We are committed to growing our base, building people power, and reimagining our communities free from oppression and seek to abolish the systems that marginalize, criminalize, imprison, and kill our people. We are building on the legacy of racial justice and LGBTQIA+ liberation movements.

Your support will directly fund our organizing and movement building efforts this year, a presidential election year, including our Vota Jota voter education campaign and ongoing initiatives to convene our members to strategize and call for an end to trans detention and liberation of all Latinx queer and trans folks.
