Every day,  thousands of LGBTQ+ individuals along the Jersey Shore, and members of their families, friends, and allies, face unique challenges related to their sexual orientation or gender identity/expression, or that of their loved ones. You may also be familiar with some of the issues brought on by an often-intolerant society like a lack of understanding, discrimination and bigotry, bullying and harassment, feelings of loneliness or depression, and even thoughts of suicide.

PFLAG Jersey Shore Leading With Love 

PFLAG Jersey Shore is a registered 503(c) nonprofit organization that promotes the well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals, their families, and friends through support, education, and advocacy. Founded in 2004, we host several monthly support meetings in Monmouth and Ocean counties where people can ask questions, voice their concerns, and receive support and information about the LGBTQ+ related issues they are facing. We also:

1. Sponsor and participate in numerous educational and cultural events throughout the year
2. Collaborate with Ocean Partnership for Children to host social support meetings for LGBTQ+ youth ages 13-18 in Ocean County
3. Collaborate with Monmouth Cares to host social support meetings for LGBTQ+ youth ages 13-18 in Monmouth County
4. Host monthly support meetings for LGBTQ+ individuals, their loved ones, & allies in Monmouth & Ocean counties
5. Offer organizational training seminars on various topics related to LGBTQ+ employees, customers, and inclusive practices

As a nonprofit organization run by volunteers, PFLAG Jersey Shore relies solely on membership dues and donations to cover our many expenses, some of which include insurance, printing literature, advertising, expenses related to our events, guest speaker fees, and maintaining our helpline.
