PFLAG NYC

PFLAG NYC makes life better for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ+) youth by helping create Loving Families, Safe Schools, and Inclusive Communities.

We help families stay close and keep relationships strong when a child comes out. We work with schools and students to end bullying and harassment so that all young people feel accepted and able to thrive. We educate the public so LGBTQ+ youth can look forward to a bright and successful future.

While politicians in some states are trying to ban LGBTQ+ inclusive books, drag shows, and anything gay or trans, PFLAG NYC has successfully worked for decades with city and state education leaders, building partnerships that prioritize safe schools and inclusive classrooms for all NYC students, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. 

Through our work with the New York City Department of Education, PFLAG NYC has delivered hundreds of in-school trainings and presentations. We've supported thousands of LGBTQ+ and allied youth leaders throughout NYC in their efforts to create safer schools through GSAs, and we've helped pass inclusive policies that create safer schools for all.

Through our partnership of parents, families, friends, and allies united with LGBTQ+ people, LGBTQ+ youth will find support in every aspect of their lives.
