Mich Gonzalez - Board Member

My name is Mich P. Gonzalez and I am the proud transgender son of LGBTQ Cuban immigrants who overcame poverty and housing instability in South Florida providing me the opportunity to become a first-generation university and law school graduate. Now I am the Associate Executive Director of the national non-profit Freedom for Immigrants and I am honored to serve as the Alliance's Board Secretary. I contribute my time, energy and money to the Alliance because I know that in order to have a future where all people can live with peace, love, and life-affirming resources, we must invest in our youth. 

This could not be more true than in Florida, where our youth are targeted at every level. This generation deserves to have a say in the planet they inherit and the societal powers that impact their entire lives. What's more, they're talented, emotionally intelligent, community-minded and ready to lead. The youth the Alliance supports with free mental health services, resources, and leadership training inspire tremendous hope in me that despite all they have endured and continue to endure, from the pandemic to climate crisis to mass shootings, they have the power to make lasting change.
