Show Up with Pride! RMAA Give OUT Day 2023

Did you know that this year alone, according to the Human Rights Campaign, a record of more than 540 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been introduced in state legislatures; over 220 of those bills specifically target transgender and non-binary people, also a record; and 45 anti-LGBTQ laws have been enacted? Many of these laws ban gender-affirming care for transgender youth, require or allow misgendering of transgender students, target drag performances, create a license to discriminate, and censor school curriculum, including books. In conclusion, these laws are meant to target LGBTQAI+ and especially put our transgender friends and family in danger.

Whether you are a member of the community or an ally, it is very important for all of us to show up for what’s right. The Rocky Mountain Arts Association and the Denver Choruses are dedicated to continuing the fight and keep building community through music. We will not be silenced.

We are inviting you to collaborate with us this month in raising $5,000 for Give OUT Day, the only national giving event dedicated to the LGBTQAI+ community. Funding will help RMAA

• Build an Anti-Bullying program for high school LGBTQAI+ students.  This work is as crucial as ever!  We need to support the younger generation and help them discover that being part of the LGBQTAI+ community is a beautiful thing and that there is nothing that could possibly be wrong with them. 

• Bring well-known guest artists to upcoming chorus concerts. This will help expose the choruses to a larger audience and expand our impact.

• Support production of our 2023-2024 concert performances. We have over 20 ticketed concerts planned for 2023-2024 in all seven counties in the SCFD metro Denver area!
