I am fundraising for OutFront Minnesota. This year, OutFront Minnesota's Give to the Max Day goal is $30,000—the amount needed to provide a year of financial assistance to queer and trans people experiencing violence.
I serve as treasurer for the board of directors and have been engaged in the org's recent leadership changes and have got us to a place of stability and growth!
Donating to OutFront Minnesota is important to me because we are an island in a see of red. OutFront Minnesota is leading the country in protecting queer people.
Can you donate $50—enough to buy a week of groceries for a trans person experiencing violence? When you are a queer or trans person experiencing violence, sometimes food, transportation, or healthcare costs are the first things we need to reach safety. As winter comes, our fellow queer and trans community members need this support more than ever.
I also support OutFront Minnesota because they know that helping individuals is only one way of addressing violence. To stop violence before it even starts, OutFront Minnesota also passes policies at the state capitol to make sure that our LGBTQ+ communities are protected under the law from violence and discrimination. They also work with educators, GSAs, and youth to build safer schools, so that LGBTQ+ students are protected from violence too.
Donate $50 on Give to the Max Day to help OutFront Minnesota support our communities, such as by helping a queer person get emergency transportation to a shelter in the middle of winter. Can you help OutFront Minnesota reach their goal of $30,000 on Give to the Max Day?
