North Bay LGBTQI Families

North Bay LGBTQI Families seeks to provide families with LGBTQIA+ parents, caregivers, and children with a means of building community and advocating for inclusive, diverse, and welcoming spaces in Sonoma County and the surrounding areas. 

In addition to offering family-friendly social events and connection spaces, our group hosts workshops and other training opportunities for parents and caregivers to develop the tools and skills they need to engage in intersectional advocacy for our rights and protections in schools, local government, and elsewhere in our semi-rural and suburban communities. We are fiscally sponsored by Positive Images LGBTQIA+ Center.

In the coming year we are excited to continue or develop the following program offerings, which your donation can support:

• Social gathering and connection spaces for LGBTQIA+ families and individuals.
• Our gender expansive youth under 12 program, which includes monthly social and family gatherings for youth participants as well as resources and discussion spaces for parents and caregivers.
• Connection and support for Spanish-speaking and/or Latiné/x families and community members.
• LGBTQIA+ school advocacy & workshops, which foster safer and more welcoming learning environments for our youth and families, as well as training opportunities for parents and caregivers to advocate in these settings.
• Intergenerational programming, which we co-host through a recurring series of monthly events taking place throughout Sonoma County where we seek to bring together members of our community across generations, particularly gender expansive youth, teens, and adults. 

Your donation of any amount will help us continue to create these spaces for community connection, advocacy, healing, and hope for LGBTQIA+ families and individuals in and around Sonoma County.
