My name is Rev. Derek Terry. I am a member of the United Church of Christ and currently serve as the pastor at St. Peter's UCC in Cincinnati, OH. As a Black, gay, Christian pastor, being part of an Open and Affirming (ONA) congregation has been a profound blessing, offering me love, dignity, and community. However, less than 40% of our churches are ONA. The goal of the Open and Affirming Coalition is to ensure that every church in our denomination becomes fully inclusive and affirming!
