Welcome to my COLAGE corner! Here's what's new:

1. Parentage Report: COLAGE partnered up with Movement Advancement Project (MAP), GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD), the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR), and Family Equality to create a report that explains how the current patchwork of parentage laws across the country – many of which haven’t been updated in decades – leaves children with LGBTQ+ parents vulnerable -- and why we must work to establish and maintain protections for LGBTQ families and queerspawn (like me).

2. Successful Family Week Registration: We are gearing up for the largest LGBTQ family gathering in the United States!! Family Week is a week-long event co-hosted by COLAGE and Family Equality where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and/or asexual (LGBTQIA+) families gather in Provincetown, MA. 

3. Great programming (as always)! Affinity group meet-ups, collaborations, and so much more!

Who am I?

I joined COLAGE in 2014. Meeting other people with similar identities and experiences felt like puzzle pieces of myself coming together. At the time, I had known these supportive and kind folks for only a few months, but it felt like my whole life. Attending my first Family Week in 2014 was an especially transformative experience because I had learned what it was like to be part of a compassionate, resilient, community. While I had fortunately known what a loving family was through my upbringing, being with folks who had a vision to bring our stories forward, uplift other marginalized communities, and advocate for a movement inclusive of everyone was reinvigorating. As a Co-Chair, I am so thankful to help cultivate and continue to foster a safe, loving space that former COLAGE staff and volunteers had so artfully created, and for future generations to lead.
